Chapter 1.4

Chapter 4, Generation 1
Goodbye?
Jack was working hard to earn his place with Alex.  He spent his time cleaning everything that could be cleaned, and making her dinner (well, they didn't have a stove yet so he made her cereal).

Today, in particular, was the day he planned to marry Alex.  It had been a year since they got engaged, and they had fallen deeply in love.

His plan was to build them a house while Alex was at work, and she would be so elated she couldn't say no.

And the plan began, and he build them a plain old shack filled with everything they already had, except he bought a double bed so they no longer had to sleep in shifts, plus walls and a roof.

Jack was pretty proud of himself when he saw the finished product.  Even though it was the equivelent of a shack, it inspired Jack to be the best carpenter, considering he wanted to max out 3 skills.

Alex was so surprised and elated they had a private wedding in front of their new home.

They didn't even care that he was wearing his old beat-up jeans and his shirt covered in sawdust and she was wearing her frumpy work uniform.

It was a romantic occasion, Jack had been practicing his vows in the mirror while Alex was at work.
Alex was so charismatic, she had made one up on the spot, and it may have been better than Jack's!

After the rings were exchanged, they had their first kiss as a married couple.  They never really were over affectionate towards eachother, but it just made this kiss all the more special.

A FEW MONTHS LATER

Jack was spending most of his time at home, where  he pretty much did whatever he wanted, considering he did not have a job.

He spent a lot of time singing in front of the mirror, though he wasn't very good.  It was one of the skills he planned to master, he was a virtuso after all.

Unfortunately, as fun as this was for Jack, it wasn't very fun for Alex.  She was the only one working, and she still had a pretty measly income, so there would be no stove (or guitar for Jack) for quite a while.

So Jack wasn't the best roomate for a neat, hardworking woman such as Alexandria.

Not only was Jack unemployed, he was also a major slob.
Alex even caught him licking the remainders off a dirty plate...

It was starting to make her angry, she wanted to make a good impression on her collegues, considering they would want to meet him once she starts campaigning.

But Alex was so in love with him, and the fact that she was married, she chose to ignore it all.

Soon she was noticing she was having to wear looser and looser clothes, just to fit her buldging stomach.  She had no second guesses on what was happening-- (she couldn't be gaining weight, she ate like a bird) she must be pregnant with her first baby.

But the problem was, she didn't know how she would tell Jack-- she specifically remembered him getting ticked off by some little kids when they went to a picnic at the park.

She decided to put the subject gently.

"Jack, we are having a baby,"

He showed no emotion.

"Jack," she repeated.

"This is wonderful!" Jack yelped as he pulled her into a hug.

5 MONTHS LATER

Alex was getting moodier and moodier.  She finally snapped at Jack once he complained about having to fix the shower:

"Jack, you can't be complaining!  I'm the one who supports us, and we still barely have a home!  How do expect us to be able to take care of a baby when we have no room!"

"Why don't we move into a larger house?"

"Because, we can't afford one because you don't have a job!"

"My job is fixing everything in the house, and being your husband, which currently is getting hard to do!"

"Try harder then!" Alex yelled, enable to keep her anger subdued.

And so called a taxi, and he was gone.

5 MONTHS LATER (again)

Alexandria was starting to find it tough to be alone.  She hated not having someone to wake up next to in the morning.  She hated not being able to hold someone in her arms.  She hated how he left.  He hated how she made him leave.  She hated herself for making him leave.

But then, when she was outside washing the dishes, she felt the worst pain she had ever experienced: her waters breaking.

She felt like she couldn't move, or reach into her pocket and get her phone to call the ambuelence.

So that was when she knew this was the time she needed Jack the most, and she cried--she cried because of the physical pain, and the emotional pain.

ONE YEAR LATER

Time has passed, but Alexandria had not moved on.  She even considered called Connor again, but she was sure, that just like all her friends, he had found his other half.  But of course, so did Alex.  But he was gone.  He left her more than just a broken heart.  He left her a son, a beautiful boy named Brady Bloome.
